YUCK!  Wind and snow and COLD!  I am sooooo not ready for this!

You know, it's really hard to get up at 5:15am to go swimming when it is FREEZING and BLOWING outside.

Sorry for yelling, I'm just not ready for this.

Can you tell I'm not ready?

On another note, I was watching Katie Perry perform on the Victoria's Secret Runway Show tonight and the camera man was obsessed with her boobs.  I can't say I've ever gotten that up close and personal with a stars boobs, seriously.

Mine are better though.....

OK, I just had to throw that in there.

You certainly cannot do this when it is snowing and blowing.

This is going to be a long winter.  The good news is I love wearing sweaters and sweatshirts.  I'm learning to look at the positive in everything.  Good energy everywhere.

Is it working yet?

Finding Thankfulness

I am finding my thankfulness again.

I am thankful for my family and my friends.

I am thankful to be able to have the things we do.

I am thankful for my creative abilities and my ability to create the quilts, jewelry and misc items I do for friends and family.

I am thankful for the weather holding so I could spend one of the saddest and most traditional weekends of our family with my Mom. (Today is the 2 year anniversary to my Dad's passing.)

I am thankful that my Mom is able to smile at this time of year and go out for lunch with a new friend.

I am thankful I am able to sit here on my computer and blog about whatever I want.

I am thankful for a lot of things..........the list could go on forever.

What are you thankful for?

It was just a few years ago that I could not find the thankfulness in life.  I focused almost solely on the negative.  I have since found my thankfulness again, and though I can still see some negatives, they do not overtake my brain like they once did.

Look to the sunny side, even though winter storms are barrelling down on us.  Look for the sunny side..........

Dinner and Sickness

My first hint that Hailey was really sick was when we arrived at Grandma's and she immediately went and laid down on the couch.  She did not move from that position until it was time to get up and eat.  she had two blankets on her and slept most of the time.  I took her temperature one of the times she was awake and it read 100.4 degrees.  She did eat some dinner.

This morning she was throwing up.  One hot bath, Tylenol and crackers with water later she seems to be feeling better.

I'm thankful we are somewhere where she can be easily taken care of and we are not in a large crowded house full of ungrateful crabby relatives.  Not that I have ever been in that situation, well maybe once, but I'm thankful none-the-less.

Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Even though Hailey ended up sick it was still nice.  Small and nice.  A relaxing weekend with family.

Thank you for your time to read my thoughts, have a wonderful Holiday weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving

Wow, the holidays can just be CRAZY times!  Some days I feel the only time I have time to stop and think is at work.  Not really true, but sometimes it feels like that.  Got my swim in this morning, Hailey is home hangin' with her Dad.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving at Grandma's.

All is right in the world.

Let me rephrase that.

All is right in MY world.

I wouldn't want to make assumptions for anyone else.

What are your guys plans for Thanksgiving? Travelling, hosting, nothing?

I am proud to say I have one Christmas gift made.  I'm on a roll.....don't stop now!

Oh, and I have one Birthday present made.  So I'm REALLY on a roll!  I'd show pictures but the recipients may see them......so I can't.

Well I could, but I won't.  Let's put it that way.

Anyway,

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm Back, again.....

What a crazy month this has been!  I am just back from Wyoming tonight.  I was at my niece's wedding.  It was great.  Great seeing her, I haven't for quite a while you know!  I finally got to meet Steven, nice kid.  (Did I just call him a kid?  Really?  How old am I?)

Anyway, I'll post a couple of pictures from the wedding.  Steph was such a BEAUTIFUL bride.  You can judge for yourself though, I'm sure I'm not being biast or anything.

They were saying their vows, I'm not sure what it is but I just love this picture.

Mom and daughter, Karmalee looked great too.

AHHHHH What a cute couple!  The new Mr. & Mrs Steven White.

I'm a bit sad they live in California, such is the life of being married to the military.  Hopefully they will eventually end up back over here.

Anyway, that is what I have been up to.  Now for a quick two days of work and then off again!

What have you been up to?

Dreaming.....

If I go to bed tonight and dream about it all being done, when I wake up in the morning will it all be done?

Isn't that what Osmosis is for, or is that pixy dust?  (Sometimes I get those confused!)

14 of these..........

I am making the center mats (I guess I would call them that) for my niece's wedding.  (Which by the way, is this weekend.)  These are what the vases for the tables at the reception will sit on.

There are 14 of them.

Here's a closer look at the center.....

We had a BIG snow storm.  Many people were without power for a couple of days.  I am thankful we were not one of those people, burrrr.

This is one of the many branches that fell down.  One of our trees (no where near our buildings) could not take it and most of it's branches broke at about the half way point.

This is the neighbor's tree across the street, that branch never did break (the one touching the ground).

It is awfully pretty though isn't it?  Destructive AND beautiful.

Hailey could not get outside fast enough to play in the snow.  She was outside almost all day.  It wasn't too awfully cold, nice playing outside in the snow weather, as long as you don't have to drive anywhere.

The snow is about half gone now.

It can stay away until I am back from Wyoming, at least.

See ya' all on the Sunny Side!  (Or is that the Sparkly Side?)

I'm back and the computer is working........

Well, I'm back.  My computer is now working wonderfully.  Everything is good, life is good.  Have a wedding to attend this weekend and I wish my husband could come with.  If he wants to work this winter though, he has to stay and take this class.  Long, boring, snoozer of a class.  OSHA30, not interesting at all.

I'll write more tonight.......I have to go right now though, pesky work!

The meaning behind the name.....

Ever heard that saying......"That went over like a lead balloon."? Well, it did.  Went right over, and then thudded to the ground.  It's OK though, that bracelet and Kleenex cover will end up on my Etsy site when I get it up and running.

Thanks to those of you who do read this blog regularly.

My computer is a little better now.  Still working out some bugs, but it's about there.

My seester is working on my logo, and I think we've about got it.  I'm torn though, I can't make up my mind which one I like best.  When we get it narrowed down to about 2 or 3 maybe I'll post them here for a little voting session.

YOU would have to leave a comment though, or it would be pointless!

It had to be said.  Really, I know you understand.

Have I ever told you where I came up with the name Thunderbird & Fox?  NO?  Well......it's quite a personal story.  Hard to tell still as it's only been 2 years (in 18 days) since my Dad passed.  Yes, it revolves around my Dad, as much in my life did.

Part of the story begins with the fact that I have studied many religions over the years.  Shamanism being one that held my attention for quite a while.  You see I had a friend who was trained in Shamanism.  She and I had many long discussions about religion, ALL religions, and she let me see into her world, and experience it.

On this journey I discovered a lot about myself.  I also discovered that all religions, at their core, are the same.  They all have the same BASIC beliefs and a god.  They all just wear different faces and are commemorated in a different form.  A lot of people just use religion as an excuse to do what they want.  On this journey, I discovered a connection to me and the fox.  It's really an amazing story of it's own.  Maybe someday I will share it.

Not today though.....

I will say this:
To this day, on every long trip I take or when I am walking in the woods, or am just out in nature, I either see a fox or one crosses my path.  Always, I am not kidding.

So that is the Fox portion of this site name.

The Thunderbird portion comes from my Dad.  See, for almost as long as I can remember, maybe not quite that long, but close.  My dad had his own side business, Thunderbird Metal Products.  He was very intelligent and would sit and sketch out designs and ideas on a notepad in the evening after a long day at work and after having eaten dinner.  Then the next thing we would know, there it would be in real life, welded up out of pieces of raw steel.  All painted up and shiny.  I remember my Dad always having a booth at the fair.  It was so awesome!  What kid actually needs an excuse to hang out at the fair ALL day?  Not me I tell you!  Eating fair food, riding the rides, sneaking into the events, exploring every nook and cranny of the fair grounds, and sometimes even helping out in her Daddy's booth.  Not me.......I was there, with bells on.  My Dad's business evolved over the years and eventually ended with him restoring old tractors and selling them or using them for pulling competitions.  It evolved with Dad, as he evolved.

Thunderbird & Fox.............

I hope my small side business I plan on starting here soon turns out as successful as my Dad's.  He always had fun with it, and worked enough, to support the business and have a little extra money for fun stuff.  (Well, at least, what he thought was fun stuff.  Wink...wink...to my Mom!)

So that's the story.  Simple really, but it does have a lot of meaning and memories already linked to it, even though it is new.

In loving memory of Daddy......(the Thunderbird)

Gentrie.............(the Fox)

Re-try on Halloween

OK, so let's try this again, anyway, Halloween.  Hailey was a Purple Punk Witch, as I said.

Still thinking this fits her perfectly.  She loves purple, she is a punk, and well, the witch outfit is just cute.

She really loves the whole wig thing.  She's been wearing this wig every day since Halloween.  Of course Mom draws the line at wearing it to school.

"Wow!  Look at all this loot!"

"Look Dad, it's a tootsie roll!  Aren't these your favorite?"

As I said earlier, I will be having a give-a-way on this site.  My computer needs to go in to the doctor.  So I will be off line for a little while, BUT I am going to post a giveaway here while I am out of commission.

I leave more details in day or two.......stay tuned!

Well, who knew my digital camera had a memory of it's own.  I mean without the little card in it.  I learn something new every day I swear......

Anyway Hailey was a Purple Punk Witch for Halloween.  Right up her alley if you ask me!

Big cheesy grin and all.....

OK, now I'm having issues uploading pictures...

I will post more later.

Stay tuned for a giveaway from this site..............
