It's Fair Season....

So it's Fair season again.  We are in a different part of the world now, time to show my daughter what I grew up with.  We are going to my hometown today to the County Fair.  I haven't been there in probably over ten years, the Fair I mean.

The town is a lot smaller now than when I was growing up though, so I know the fair won't be as big.  It should still be fun though.

We are waiting for hubby to get home from work.  He was supposed to work all day today but there was a huge storm that ripped through here last night and the construction site is a tub of mud and water today.  (Update:  Hubby has to work elsewhere and cannot come now, :( Booooo!)

They are pumping the water out of the hole and then heading home.  We'll get to the fair around 3-ish, which is perfect for walking through the exhibition hall, looking at the animals, then going on some rides.

In the meantime, enjoy this photo from last year.

This was at the South Dakota State Fair last year with my Mom.  We did not go to the Minnesota State Fair last year as it is soooooooo crazy busy it takes all the fun out of it.

WEEEEEEEEE!

See you at the Fair!

The review is in...

Hailey and I went to the dinosaur museum last weekend, and this weekend she went again with her Dad.  It was too hot to work Saturday so he hung with Hailey instead.  It is a great museum with a lot of interesting displays and information.

This guy wrapped clear around to another room.....he was impressively huge and I don't think I would have enjoyed meeting him in the ocean.

See.......there goes his tale into that other room.  They had to put a hole in the wall to accommodate him.

This is a huge sea turtle.....like you couldn't tell.  Anyway, they haven't changed much huh?  Just in size I think.

I could not get this picture to rotate to save my life, so if you can turn your monitor you might have to, or stand on your head, which ever is easier....

These eggs a real petrified dinosaur eggs....cool huh?

I don't want to give everything away, so you'll just have to come see for yourself.  It's a cool museum and a nice resting, walk around stop on a long trip.  Stop on in, it's right by the interstate and you can't miss it.

It's the building with the T-Rex tearing through the wall.  My daughter won't be there though, although you never know, she seems to have caught dinosaur fever!

Survival

Sometimes I feel a bit like this tree.

It's a survivor.  It is bent and leaning but it still grows......just in a different way.
