Camper Quilts

Next on the to do list is a couple camper quilts.  Some snuggles that are OK to be dragged in the dirt to the camp fire chair, warm and snuggly.

So I went to the stash.  Nothing is better for a camping quilt than a pine quilt right!?!  Am I right?  Well it is in our area anyway.  Land of the pine tree.  Throw in a bit of fishing fabric, and there you go!

I thought I would just sew the charm packs together for the center and throw on a couple of borders on.  Simple, simple, simple, and functional.

In other news, I picked up these gems yesterday.  Cute huh?  The bears are cards.  They are so adorable!!!

Can never have too many herb books for reference.

I also got "Dad's corner" set up.  He was very proud of that saddle, and that is his military burial flag there.  Grandma's  wash picture is in there also.  Miss him tons!!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

This took FOREVER!

I finally completed the quilt top for my bed.  It has been years in the works and put on the back burner more times than I can count.  Now it is D...O...N...E..., DONE!!!!

This is the completed top on my bed.  It is a California King.  Lots of fabric in that one.  The fabric is Robert Kaufman  'La Scala'.  I believe they are on a version 7 of this line if that tells you how long I have had it.  I still love it though!

It did not show up in the picture but the white does have a print on it, white on white.

I cannot wait until it is quilted.  It will add so much dimension to it!

I was looking  through my latest Connecting Threads catalogue and they had premade quilt labels in there.  One of them said "This took forever!!"  I am going to get it for this quilt.

Off to the quilter it goes.  I am soon excited!

I just noticed in that last picture the blur of my 3 year old running by......it is not a ghost, she is just fast.  Just ask her!  LOL!

Always,

The Extinct Dinosaur

Finally I got a quilt complete!  Saturday sew days are no longer in session, and summer is about to begin.  So quilting in my world has once again dwindled away.  There is hope though.....

The dinosaurs  are complete, done, finished, capoot , EXTINCT!
Piper loves having it to finally sleep under.

It was machine quilted by Carla Muggli, a local gal who does some amazing  stuff at a reasonable price.

Sorry for the bad photos.  It was late and I was struggling to get good light.  It's great though.  I even made a dinosaur label for it.

I have to whip stitch the label down yet, but it is on and done.

I have a few quilts in the house that need labels.  Better get on that!

Now it is camping season.  Mark got the camper ready to go the other weekend.  We have decided to take it for a test run this weekend since it supposed to be in the 80's this weekend.  I have put quite a few blankets in it, but we need some "camper " quilts.  You know the heavy cozy ones for when it gets cold at night even though  it was 80 during the day?  Yep those ones, scrappy!

A couple of stash busters coming up!!

Have a great  weekend.  Hope it'a camping weather for you too!
