New Hanger & Solution...

I know this has been driving you all crazy, so here is my answer.... (drum roll)....I am leaving the witch quilt as is.  Whew!!!

I just cannot find the right fabric to add as a border so I am leaving it where it is.  Hubby even pointed out it will be good to snuggle with while sitting in the chair.

Wow!  Now I can move on!  So I got this new quilt hanger from Connecting Threads.  It is a table top one.

Difficult to see in a picture without a quilt on it.  It can fit a 12" x 12" mini quilt on it.  I got it because I wanted to take it into my office at work.  So then I had to pick fabrics.

The are 'Rustique' by Michael Miller.  I don't know if you can see it in the picture, but there are deer heads on the blue and the octogon fabric.  I love this line.  I am not a fan of the mauvey  pink, but I new I needed it in there.

Then to select a block....

This block is called weathervane.  Cute huh?

Here is the block top complete.....

Here it is finished and hanging on my new rack!!  I am digging it, and I think it is perfect for hanging in my office.  Cute, but not overly feminine.

I think the binding really makes it.  See, I told you I would need that pink!  It is also the backing.

I think I want to try a convergence style quilt with these fabrics next.  Ricky Tims does them, Google it, they are cool.

I will let you know how that turns out!

P.S. - Still no binding on the second camp quilt!

A Finish and A Dilemma

I have yet to bind the second camp quilt.  I cannot decide what fabrics to bind it in.  They have to come from my stash, that is the rule.  True, my rule but......

I did get the table runner/wall hanger quilted and bound though.  Don't look too closely at the quilting I am not very good yet.

I have a couple threads to bury yet.  What do you think?

I did a scrappy binding.  I am really liking the pattern and the results.

Which leads me to the next project.

This is such an awesome panel.  Hocus Pocus by Moda.

I got the charm pack and a cut of one of the fabrics in the line.  It is supposed to be a wall hanging.  Although, when I made it, it was too big to hang on a wall in my house.

So then I thought, I don't have a Halloween throw!  It will end up a lap quilt.  It is wide enough but too short.  So now I am in a dilemma, do I leave it or add to the top and bottom?

I would either have to go get more fabric from the line or find something from my stash to work.  Dilemmas...

Always,

A finish, A top and a ready to bind

This weekend I actually managed to complete the binding on the first camper quilt.

In fact, I am snuggling under it right now.  It is a little chilly in here at the moment.

I also got the second camper quilt back from the quilter.

I like this one too.  I think it turned out great.  Now to bind it...

That is a flannel on the back that looks like aspens in winter.  Very light and bright like the quilt, but still cozy and warm.

I also got the Rebel Roses top complete.

The pattern is my own.  It is a table runner or long wall hanging size.  I might do a combination of hand quilting and machine quilting on it.

What do you think?  I like how it turned out.  I love these roses.

It seems quite stormy tonight.  It was over 100 today.

This was going on behind me while I was taking the last photos.  A little thunder and lightning in there.  The BIG dragonflies  were out scooping up moquitos!  I love them!

Good night all!

A Productive Day

I finished the second camping quilt top.  I have the backing fabric I just need to piece it.  (The center is made from a bow-tie block exchange I did with 'Fun With Barb').

It is a little bit short, but it will work for snuggling.  Off to the quilter's this week.  I am pleased how it turned out.

My girls really like it too.  Today  I also cut a bunch of left-over fabrics into 2-1/2" strips, 5" blocks  and 10" blocks.

I also cut the binding for OUR quilt for when it gets back from the quilter's.

.....and  sewed them together....

Binding ready to go!  Just waiting on the quilt .

This binding got sewn on today, now I am just hand stitching the back.

The quilting  looks a bit like pine needles.  It is loosely quilted, which is what I wanted so it would be more snuggly.

NOW......these fabrics are calling me.  These are 'Rebel Roses' for Henry Glass.  I have had them quite a while, probably 8 years-ish?

Normally I am not a flower type girl, but I love this line.  It will be a wall hanging for this one.  So I can see it all the time.

I will keep you posted on what I come up with.

What are you working on?

Always,
