Ummmm 2012?

I CANNOT believe it has been a month since I last posted!  OK, December was seriously a blur!  On top of that we have been without Internet for about two weeks.  Count them......1.....2......WEEKS!

I have been going BANANAS!

Especially since I just bought myself a NOOK and need WIFI to use it properly.

I love my NOOK, and I am so glad I bought it.  I have read 3 books on it already since I bought it (just before Christmas).

I am also addicted to the WORDS with friends game.  I have 4 scrabble games going already and it is TOTALLY addicting!  I do REALLY suck at scrabble though.  So I am currently loosing all of the games.  I'm not worried though, I get a little better everyday.

There are also some pretty cool interactive kids books that I can put on them for Hailey.  She loves it too.

Not that she reads Spider Man, but the option is there.

We can also watch movies on it from our Netflix account. Or I can watch all my FOX shows that I miss because our satellite dish company does not carry the FOX station (boooooooo! Hisss!).

It's a little more spendy than the Kindle Fire, but I find it worth every penny.

So I hope you all got everything you wanted for Christmas and more!  I hope you all had a fun and SAFE New Year also.

PS.  Barnes & Noble does not know I exist (with the exception of their purchasing department, technically they do not know me, just my card number).  This is NOT a paid advertisement, I just like this product and thought I would share.

A Small Fair and a List

As I had blogged a while ago (jeez that long already?) Hailey and I went to the fair in Rosebud County.  This is where I grew up and it was fun going back.  It's a small fair but so much fun, the lines were short for the rides and Hailey really did have a blast.

These were taken from my cell phone so I apologise for the washed out look.

This picture is so cool, it makes me squint just looking at it.

This girl loves to spin, she has my stomach, not her Dad's.

1. Our life is starting to get back to a norm.  We are moved to our "house" and out of the dinky apartment.

2. Everything is still in boxes (so maybe a little chaos yet).

3. I got half of the kitchen unpacked last night.

4. The reason I hadn't blogged was because of the move.

5. .....And the weekend trip back to Minnesota.

6. We were non stop moving and working, it was exhausting.

7. We have to do that one more time before winter.

8.  I'm torn between happiness over that and dread.  (It's a long trip, but I COULD see my friends again.)

9. I missed seeing a bunch of friends this last trip, I guess I need to announce my plans better.

10. I'll be back more often, I promise, half my life is not spent driving anymore.  (I just need to dig it out of the boxes!)

A Dislike for Packing

We are officially packing everything in the house.  I either gets packed to stay here or packed to come with.

Logically I am trying to pack everything that stays here first.  As most of the things that will be "going" we still need.

This is the upstairs landing, Hailey's bed is dismantled waiting for the buyer to come and get it.

Boxes are stacking up everywhere.

Walls are bare......notice I am still trying to get some quilting in here and there.

I keep thinking that I am almost there and not much is left but then more stuff pops up.  This is why I hate packing.  It sucks and is a pain.  We need way less stuff.

Back to the packing, Hailey is BEGGING me to take her swimming this afternoon at the Rec Center.  Which means I have to get some packing done this morning.

The day quilting with my friends this last Saturday was great fun.  I'll post on that a little later.

So see you later for now......from my house of boxed disarray.

It's Official

So all the people who had to know first now know, and now you will know.

Hailey and I are moving back to Montana.  Mark is already over there and has been for over a month.  Today it is our wedding anniversary, which really has nothing to do with anything other than it sucks being 700 miles from each other on our anniversary.

Anyway, I got the call yesterday, and I am now newly employed, starting the 20th of June.  Lot's to do before then.

For those of you who do not know we are originally from Montana, both of us.

It will be difficult the first year since we'll be paying for two places until the house here in Minnesota sells, but we will manage.  I'm putting out the good vibes that the house sells BEFORE the end of summer.

Help me with that will you?  We need it to go, soon.

I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Ready, Set, Go!

The house is ready!  I worked my butt off this weekend!  I had help today though, Thanks Rachel!

My daughter was snapping pictures right and left today.  I'm just sorting through them now.  Let's see what she came up with this time.........
Millie, my friend Rachel's daughter was here today to help distract, I mean play with Hailey. :)

Yep, that's distracting!

Rachel, I never realised you were that short!  HA!HA!HA!  Boy I look like crap, I'd only been cleaning for 2 days straight.  I should lean a little more next time.  She's my bud!

I'll show pictures of the house next go around.  It smells like sweet tarts in here, yum!

Those stupid eggs are still in my fridge too!  Bleh!

A "Laundry" List

It's too busy.  I have a long laundry list of things to do in the next four weeks, besides go to work and take care of my daughter.

Paint basement floor.

Paint wall in Hailey's room.

SCRUB every room in the house top to bottom. (We are selling, believe me, I wouldn't otherwise!)

Manage somehow to keep it clean.

Cook dinners.

Get the shingle fixed on the roof.  (One blew off.)

Touch up paint the outside of my house and garage.  (Including trim and soffit.)

Get old appliances hauled off next week.

Sell a few furniture items.  (Bunk bed, computer hutch, fish tank...)

Sort through loads of stuff and thin it all down (clothes, toys, papers, house stuff...)

Finish at least one VERY important quilt this week (my Mom's) so it will be ready by her birthday.

Ewww, wash my windows, don't look at my front picture window if you drive by house.

Did I mention laundry?

Sigh......

I'm gonna go read, and then go to bed.

I'll start tomorrow, honest I will.

Counting Down........

Christmas tree.......check.

Christmas cards.......check.

Wrapped presents........check.

Shower.........check.

Snuggle time with hubby.........check.

TO DO LIST:

Make Lots of cookies
Do laundry
Drink lots of coffee
Decorate tree and house
Get some sort of sleep

It is so close to Christmas and our house is finally starting to look like it.  I wish my memory card on my camera hadn't been full yesterday.  When we went to get our tree the snow was knee deep.  It was so funny watching Hailey play in it.  They did not have the tractor working because of the rain we were getting RIGHT before this 2' or whatever of snow.  It was still fun though.  Tree is thawed and relaxed this morning, no more little ice balls on it, time to decorate!

Hope you all are having a wonderful Holiday Season.........

Tornados and Twilight

We had three tornados within a couple of miles of us tonight.  Maybe closer.....I'm not sure of the exact location they were around here........but they were not next to our house.  We spent a lot of time in the basement tonight.

Early on in the afternoon in the pre-rain/tornado storm a large branch off of our huge oak tree in our back yard came crashing down on our garage.  It hit the side of the house but most of the damage was on the garage......like a few hole in the roof now.

Hard to see through the leaves........but they are attached to a BIG branch sitting on the roof..

Uuuummmmm does anyone know a carpenter?  Oh wait.........I married one!

Then after the storm blew over, it was twilight time.....and it was an AMAZING orange tinted color.  A bit eerie really........and cool!

EVERYTHING in town was tinted this color.........

Beautiful...........and well, odd too....

So we did not get hit with the big tornados......thank goodness.  The garage was in need of new shingles.......which we were planning on working on this summer, that and the shed shingles need replacing.  Now we are doing a whole garage roof and shingles on the shed.

So, anybody got some roofing material just laying around waiting to go up?  NO?  REALLY?  Ok....I guess I can see that.  Thanks for looking though.

Always (in pieces)

Spring Cleaning.......?

I just got finished cleaning my house from top to bottom.  In fact my right hand is a little shaky from scrubbing so hard.  Hailey had a play day with some little friends of hers (quite literally).

See Hailey is 6 (as I've mentioned before) and she is in kindergarten.  She is also about 4' 5" tall which means she looks like a second grader playing with a bunch of kindergarteners.  She has grown an inch already just since the beginning of the school year.  Needless to say she's tall.  I can hear the nicknames now......Amazon woman......stick.....tree.......stretch.......the list goes on.  I know because I had several of them when I was a girl.  It also means every basketball coach will want her to play on their team......wether she wants to or not........because she's tall (not beacuase she's coordinated or athletic, which right now she's not!).

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, my house is clean.  AAAAAHHHHH!  Now my hands are tired and dry and shriveled and I have butt loads of laundry to do.  Especially since I pulled bedding........part of the whole clean theme.   Bleh!

You know them little "blackhole" fairies I mentioned a few posts ago?  Well I'm wondering why there can't be little cleaning fairies, you know they show up while you are sleeping or something and you wake up in the morning and everything is clean! YEAH!

Well.........a girl can dream can't she?

Blackhole.....

I live in a black hole.  I mean my house....it's a black hole.  There are many things that have simply just disappeared from our house.  I know....you're thinking 'you just misplaced them'.  Well there have been times where I have ripped this house apart from top to bottom, almost literally and still never found those items.

One of those items is my small portable DVD player.  My husband 'pu it up' so my daughter (then about 4 or 5) would quit playing with it.  We have never seen it again.  It is lost, but not forgotten, in this blackhole of a house.  There have been several other things......I cannot remember them all at this point (I'm lucky to remember things like buy soap).

This is my daughter standing in the Blackhole.  Fortunately we still know where she is at!
(Don't mind the mess we had just finished dinner!)

Ever seen the movie Return to Halloween Town (I think that's the one).  Anyway there is the dog looking guy in Halloween town that everything that is ever lost goes to his house.  (It's a mess too!)  I think that is where my CD player is.  It's a mute point anyway, now that I have an MP3 player.  Let's just keep our fingers crossed that doesn't end up in the blackhole!  I'm locking it up!

Maybe someday we'll be packing our stuff, moving from this house, and boom......everything will magically appear.  Yeah, right.
